Description of Service

Your customer will present a payroll check payable to the name of the customer presenting the check. Your customer will sign the back of the check and present it to your cashier. The cashier will confirm or write the customers physical address and full daytime phone number on the face of the check. The cashier will automatically feed the check through the check reader and key in the dollar amount, driver’s license number and state code. The terminal will dial into the database to determine if this check writer is in the negative database in which case a declined response is returned. If the customer is not in the negative database then the terminal will respond with an approval authorization code which is written on the check. You then deposit the check to your checking account within 3 days. Should the check be returned by your bank as NSF then you will fax a copy of the bounced check (or your bank can automatically forward NSF checks) to Global Check Services. You will receive payment from Global Check Services for the full face value of the bounced check.

Just in case you are wondering why you cannot do electronic conversion, the reason is because NACHA rules currently do not allow conversion for checks which are not made out to the name of the business converting the check.
